Traffic Signal at 14th Street and Cloquet Avenue

On September 10th the traffic signal at 14th Street and Cloquet Avenue will be taken out of service to begin work on upgrades to this signal. During this process the intersection will be controlled as a 4 way stop. This work will take roughly 4 weeks. During which time the existing steel will be painted, new LED signal heads and pedestrian signal heads will be put in place.

Also beginning on September 10th crews will begin milling the pavement along the entire length of Cloquet Avenue from TH 33 to 29th Street. During this work traffic will be maintained though the corridor. Some parking restrictions will be put in place mid-week for that section between 14th Street and TH 33. We will try to alternate sides to allow parking on the south side while the north side is being milled and then switch to milling the south side while allowing parking on the north side. This work is expected to take 3 to 4 days next week.

The following week (week of September 17th) the road will be paved. This work will take 5 to 6 days and again will impact parking but the road will remain open to traffic. Following the paving a temporary center stripe will be placed to delineate traffic lanes until the final pavement marking can be placed.

The traffic signal at 10th street will remain a 4 way stop until the final pavement markings are in place.
