Scott Baker, Traffic Services Coordinator,
and Steve Purcell make up
the Traffic Services Division.
They are well versed in the
Minnesota Manual on Uniform
Traffic Control Devices (MMUTCD)
which establishes uniformity,
consistency and safety in the
materials, sizes, types,
installation and placement of
traffic signs and pavement
markings. Together they assure
that the 4400 signs and 1200
miles of pavement striping are
placed properly, repaired or
reinstalled when damaged,
destroyed or stolen. They
provide assistance to our
maintenance crews for traffic
control during maintenance
projects and operations and also
provide assistance to townships
and cities with their traffic
signing and marking needs. They
also install the safety
‘break-away’, snow plow friendly
mailbox posts on construction
projects and for other property
owners when requested.
