Please note
that it is the policy of Carlton
County to accept applications
only for posted positions,
unless the position is covered
by the
MN Merit

Unsolicited resumes are not
accepted, but may be submitted
along with completed job
applications for currently
posted vacancies.
The Personnel Office also
maintains a Job Interest File.
This is a file of applicants
interested in employment with
Carlton County by job title. Job
seekers may stop by the office,
review this file and complete
cards anytime Monday - Friday,
between 8 am - 4 pm, excluding
weekends and holidays. Job
seekers indicating an interest
in a position that becomes
available will be notified by
mail. Your card(s) will remain
active for a period of six
months, at which point you must
notify the Personnel Office that
you want to update your card(s)
for the next six months.
To fill vacancies within the
Carlton
County Public Health/Human
Services Agency,
applicants are recruited through
the Minnesota Merit System.
Merit System administers exams
and rates training and
experience factors to provide
Counties with ranked registers
of qualified applicants. Persons
interested in Human Services
positions should contact Merit
System, take the exam for the
position(s) they are interested
in, and be placed on that/those
register(s). Eligibility is
limited to one year; after which
you must re-test.
