Press Release:
The Carlton County Sheriff's
Office is part of a group of
more than two dozen law
enforcement agencies in
Northeast Minnesota that have
launched an Internet crime
mapping initiative aimed at
reducing crime across the
Northland.
Citizens can now log onto
www.crimemapping.com to
track certain crimes happening
in the area by date, time, type
and location. You will also have
the ability to sign up for email
notification, alerting you to
certain crimes in your
community. While this does not
include all of the activities
and calls for service that the
Carlton County deputies respond
to, it does show 15 different
crime types more serious in
nature. We hope that this site
will help create a better
informed public, with this
awareness helping to reduce and
prevent crime.
