Emergency Management

Responsibilities

In accordance with Minnesota Statute Chapter 12, and under the direction of the County Board, the Emergency Management Director is responsible for Emergency Management activities throughout the County, except in cities or towns which have established local emergency management organizations.

These activities include:

  • Disseminating information to the public
  • Emergency operations planning and exercising
  • Facilitating the acquisition, maintenance, and use of emergency equipment
  • Maintaining liaison with regional, state, and federal agencies
  • Overseeing the County Emergency Operations Center
