Carlton County Transportation will be spraying herbicides on vegetation growing through the pavement of the St. Louis River bike/pedestrian trail from Highway 210 East of the Four Seasons Sports Complex in Carlton North to the Park and Ride lot in Scanlon.
In some areas the vegetation has caused severe pavement damage, making it difficult for people to use the trail.
Vegetation management with selective herbicides controls brush and yet allow grasses to grow unharmed. Herbicides used have been fully tested and are approved by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the Minnesota Department of Agriculture.
Anyone with concerns or questions regarding the use of herbicides along the St. Louis River Trail can contact Carlton County Transportation, 1630 County Rd 61, Carlton, MN 55718, phone (218)384-9150, email address: email@example.com.
