About Chub Lake
Nestled on 15 beautiful acres, Chub Lake Park is located just outside of Carlton, MN. Chub Lake Park is the last county-owned and operated park left in Carlton County and is maintained by the Parks Division of the Carlton County Property Management Department.
The park is open daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. and features a swimming beach and picnic pavilion perfect for any occasion as well as a fully plumbed bathroom and a changing facility. The boat landing access and dock make for a fun, easy and care free day on the water, and a large handicapped accessible fishing dock was installed in 2016 to offer fishing opportunities to young and old alike.
Atop the hill sits a total of four baseball / softball fields used by the Carlton Baseball Association. There is also a small sand volleyball court and lots of wide open space for summer activities.

Special Events
Although special event reservations are not available for the entire park, you may reserve the park pavilion by using the calendar below. No overnight camping is allowed. For questions, contact Property Management Supervisor Rob Carr at 218-481-2289.
Chub Lake Beach Monitoring Program
The Chub Lake Beach Monitoring Program is administered by the Carlton County Property Management Department.
Monitoring Frequency
The routine monitoring season stretches from Memorial Day to Labor Day. During that time, Chub Lake Beach is tested for E. coli weekly. In addition to routine monitoring, Chub Lake Beach is monitored following significant activity at the beach (events, big rain events, etc.).
Beach Advisory Posting Criteria
The County Property Management Department will post "Water Contact Not Recommended" advisories in the following instances:
- A single water sample returns E. coli levels exceeding 235 colonies/100 ml water.
- A 5-sample E. coli average during a 30-day period is greater than 126 colonies/100 ml water.
